Pasty Land, Cornwall Part II

Our first proper day in Cornwall saw us driving around the entire western peninsula, and stop at just about every cove along the way.  Luckily the weather was once again beautiful, time for shorts and bathers.

We happened to drive past the tiny parish of Pendeen, where there was a pasty festival. Yes! Obviously we stopped, and lined up with hordes of other people to snag ourselves one of the delicious pasties for sale (in the church no less), a scone, and then sit in the graveyard along with everyone else, whilst enjoying said goodies.  Sitting in the graveyard was a bit strange, I won't lie, but it was what everyone else was doing so hey, who were we to change things.

After the pasty extravaganza we headed along the coast to Land's End, stopping several times along the way at various coves and and towns.  Although Land's End is a bit of a tourist hotstop, it nonetheless is quite cute, and so long as you don't expect to spend too much time there you won't be disappointed.  We decided to have a quick cider before heading on, because that's just how we roll.

Now check out the drink level/horizon in this.  Photographic genius.

Below is probably one of the most picturesque, traditional English countryside views I've ever come across.

We finished the day at St Michael's Mount, although we didn't make the crossing due to high tide.  So instead we had a picnic at the beach, not a bad trade off in my opinion!

Oh I lie, we finished the day in St Ives with this beauty at Moomaid ice cream!

Oh alright, that's a lie too.  We then had a drink at the Sloop Inn, one of the oldest inns in England dating back to 1312, where I had a cider with no bubbles.  Very strange.

The First of Many Cornwall Posts

Our first evening in Zennor went something like this:

Milena: "The turn-off to Zennor should be coming soon"
Chewy: "Alright"
Milena: "(expletive) STOP! I think it was the sign back there.  Go back we've gone past it"
Chewy: "Quick let's get down the cliff before the sun sets completely".

And so off we raced down the cliff, once we'd quickly dumped our bags in our amazing hostel.  But more on that later.

We ran through fields, towards the path that leads you along the cliffs. At sunset.  It was absolutely beautiful.

Outfit Post from Cornwall, England

Today's outfit brough to you from the beautiful and sunny Cornwall!

Skirt from Urban Outfitters || Top from Primark || Shoes from Bershka

I Love Me Some Rocks, aka. Stonehenge

Because when driving to Cornwall from London...well, why not?

I've always wanted to visit Stonehenge, and lucky as has Chewy, so on our way to Cornwall we took a little detour and danced in the rain.  That is to say, I danced and pretended I was from the stone age, and Chewy watched and pretended he didn't know me.

England delivered some great weather for us, which we weren't expecting unfortunately! So whilst everyone else was clad in rain jackets and suitable clothing, we were in shorts.  That didn't bother us too much though, because after we'd spent enough time outside in the rain we had a little picnic in the car, and watched the sheep in the fields also not be terribly happy about the current weather situation.

All in all, we got a few good hours of fun out of Stonehenge.  Go on and give it a visit too when you're next in London!

It really is hauntingly beautiful.

And now to a series of photos of me jumping, to varying degrees of success, in a field in the pouring rain just after I'd walked, skipped, hopped and ran several hundred metres through it.

"Hi, we are tourists".

Pure. Joy.

What you can't tell is that I was actually doing a merry jig when Chewy pulled out the camera for this one.  There is nothing quite as fun as dancing in the rain (especially at Stonehenge).

London Calling, Milena Answering

Our last day in London (this time round) saw us be very cultural and go to the Tate Modern for some afternoon fun.  Luckily for us the weather was uncharacteristically sunny and pleasant, and so after the Tate we went on a lovely walk along the southern bank of the Thames.  Unluckily, it was low tide and smelled a bit though! I could show you hundreds of pictures I took in the Tate gallery, but for the purposes of not making your visit to the Tate redundant I picked a few favourites!

After the Tate we went to have a drink on top of the Oxo Tower, where you have beautiful views of London.  Aperol Spritz and beer followed, and then we merrily continued our walk along the river!

I'm sure for all of you from London reading this you would know about Southwark, but there are all sorts of interesting things going on here on the weekend.  A little bit of a skate/bmx thing was happening, which we stopped to have a look at, and then spotted that hair in the crowd.  Just a casual amount of hairspray going on.

Our walk then continued on to the Houses of Parliament, which were dead empty as by this stage it was Sunday evening, which appears to be the time when all other tourists are hiding.  Not that I'm complaining, it was good for us!

So that's all from London for now folks, I'll see you all in Cornwall.
